How to Travel Safely during COVID-19

App in the Air sponsored this post. These thoughts and opinions are my own, as always.

It can be difficult to locate accurate information about travel restrictions based on COVID-19.

There are always new things, which makes it difficult to plan travel domestically and internationally.

App in the Air has been my favorite travel app for many years. It’s also a great resource for planning future trips.

App in the air has some new features that will help you navigate the COVID-19 travel restrictions in your country.

They have created a new desktop website that allows you to research restrictions and information for airlines and countries in order to make it easier to plan when and where you want.

The latest App in the Air range of tools simplifies air travel research as we navigate this “new normal”.

App in the air can help you stay on top of your game and keep it safe.

Guide to Country-to-Country Travel Restrictions

App In the Air’s new landing page, which is updated every week, contains information about restrictions on country-to-country travel as well as safety filtering for airlines when you search for flights.

These searches will give you the most current information and all the details you need.

All the information you need is available by simply entering your location and destination. This ensures that there are no surprises when booking a flight, and you can book future travel confidently.

All the information about the destination you are looking for is displayed when searching. This includes details of the country that you are departing from or arriving into, restrictions on quarantines, health declarations, airline rules and all other relevant information.

Search for Health Filters in Flight Search

The same applies to airlines! You can set filters to display only airlines that meet your safety and health requirements when you search for flights from a particular destination.

I’d prefer to fly with an airline that doesn’t require masks, and not booking middle seats.

These filters allow me to search for Alaska Airlines without the need to book middle seats. Masks are required and there is no charge for cancellations or changes.

**NOTE** While most airlines will not book the middle seat on their flights for you, it is possible. Before you book, make sure to check the individual policies of each airline.

You can get reminders in-app throughout your travel journey

The best part? App in the Air will send you reminders in-app about your journey once you’ve chosen your flight.

A pop-up reminder will be displayed before you book your flight. It will contain details about health information and any travel advisories, such as travel restrictions and requirements, personal protective equipment and standards for health assessment.

Users will receive an immediate notification of any changes or cancellations if something happens before their flight.

If the country to which you are planning to fly closes its borders, you will be notified immediately. The app will also notify you if policies are changing and offer suggestions for returning routes.

What happens if you don’t find any flights while you search? You will be notified when new flights become available by future flight notifications. Simply check your email within the app.

Why it’s my favorite travel app

I would not consider myself a “country counter” or someone who travels to all countries because I want to. However, I have to admit that it is incredibly satisfying to keep track of all your flights. You can read more about why it is my favorite travel app.

App in the Air can be slow if you are new to the program. However, it is worth the wait if you have some spare time.

I have imported every flight since 2008 into the app (more than 1 million airmiles). Their technology creates a cool map that breaks down your trips by airport and aircraft and stores your boarding passes.

The app automatically imports new bookings so you can keep track of your future travels.
